Description

Authentic, easy New Orleans Dinner Mix  Just add chicken and sausage or seafood for a traditional meal. Package includes rice, seasonings and hearty dehydrated vegetables. No Artificial Flavors, No MSG Added, No Certified Colors. More Flavor, less heat. New Orleans cooking to us is about the flavor, not the heat. That's why our blends have more ingredients for a rich flavor and don't taste as salty or as spicy as other box mixes. Package contains (4) 8oz bags.

Unit Size 8 oz 4 pack

Ingredients: Rice, white onion, bell peppers, salt, vegan beef base (hydrolyzed soybean and wheat protein, maltodextrin, salt, natural flavors, autolyzed yeast extract, rapeseed oil, dehydrated onions, caramel, spices), paprika, garlic, flavor enhancer (hydrolyzed corn protein, autolyzed yeast extract, soybean oil added), palm oil, spice, caramel color, celery seed, chilies, silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent).

Very good with added onion, celery and bell pepper For texture and then chicken and sausage

Very good with added onion, celery and bell pepper For texture and then chicken and sausage. I use chicken stock vs water. Would like to recommend reducing the salt content- I can add as needed. 4 stars!

Love Creole and Cajun food, but it can be time-consuming to do well from scratch

Love Creole and Cajun food, but it can be time-consuming to do well from scratch. This seasoned rice blend was easy to make and was a tasty week-night dinner. We added shrimp and some quickly sauteed fresh veg (onions, peppers and okra) to make it our own. I would purchase again and recommend to others.

Surprisingly it was better than I expected

Posted by Alyssa on Jan 26th 2020

Surprisingly it was better than I expected. This makes making gumbo really quick. With some added seasonings it turned out how some of my family down south makes it. The first time I made it, I didn’t tell my dad that I bought a premade roux mix and he still ate it and said it was good. But overall I would definitely buy this again.

I was a bit skeptical as I have visited New Orleans often and have close friends there

Posted by Fo on Jan 22nd 2020

I was a bit skeptical as I have visited New Orleans often and have close friends there. I found this east to use (made shrimp, cajun sausage, and chicken gumbo.) My Southern friends admitted that it was acceptable (strong praise) and everyone else thought it was very good. Very good product. I will keep it on hand.
