Beignets with Café au Lait Recipe

Ingredients
For the Beignets:
- 1 box Café du Monde Beignet Mix 28oz – Authentic New Orleans dough mix
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F) – For activatin’ the mix
- Vegetable oil – For fryin’ (enough for 2 inches in a pot)
- Powdered sugar – For dustin’ that sweet finish
For the Café au Lait:
- 2 cups water – For brewin’
- ¼ cup Café du Monde Coffee with Chicory 15oz – Rich, bold flavor
- 2 cups milk – For creamy texture
- 1 teaspoon Cajun’s Choice Creole Seasoning 10oz – A pinch for a spicy twist (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Make the Beignets
- In a bowl, mix Café du Monde Beignet Mix with warm water until a dough forms. Knead lightly for 1-2 minutes.
- Roll out to ¼-inch thickness on a floured surface, cut into 2-inch squares.
- Heat oil to 360°F, fry beignets 2-3 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
Step 2: Prepare Café au Lait
- Brew Café du Monde Coffee with Chicory in a French press or drip maker with 2 cups water.
- Heat milk until steaming, then combine with coffee in a 1:1 ratio.
- Add a pinch of Cajun’s Choice Creole Seasoning for a subtle kick, if desired.
Step 3: Serve
- Dust beignets generously with powdered sugar, serve hot with café au lait on the side.
