Zesty Cajun Shrimp & Grits: A Bayou Junk Food Joyride
Shrimp and grits is a Louisiana hug in a bowl – creamy grits topped with succulent shrimp in a spicy sauce. This Cajun twist is ideal for Father's Day brunch (June 15, 2025), bringin’ that bayou flavor to your table. Easy to make, even easier to devour!
Ingredients
For the Grits:
- 1 cup Cookin’ Cajun Shrimp & Grits Mix 7.5oz – Quick and flavorful grits base
- 4 cups water or milk – For creaminess
For the Shrimp:
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled – Use 1lb Bag of 16/20 IQF Peeled Deveined Shrimp
- 1 tablespoon butter – For sautéin’
- 1 teaspoon Ragin’ Cajun 8oz Ragin Hot Cajun Seasoning Rub – Fiery rub with cayenne for intense heat
- 1 teaspoon Cajun’s Choice Shrimp Seasoning 3oz – Zesty shrimp blend with garlic and herbs
For Serving:
- Chopped green onions – For garnish
- Louisiana Fish Fry Cajun Seasoning 8oz – Extra sprinkle for heat
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Grits
- Boil water, stir in Cookin’ Cajun Shrimp & Grits Mix.
- Simmer 20-25 minutes until creamy.
Step 2: Prepare the Shrimp
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Season shrimp with Ragin’ Cajun Ragin Hot Cajun Seasoning Rub and Cajun’s Choice Shrimp Seasoning.
- Sauté 3-4 minutes until pink and curled.
Step 3: Serve
- Spoon shrimp over grits, garnish with onions and Louisiana Fish Fry Cajun Seasoning.
