Original New Orleans Olive Salad by Central Grocery - 32oz Quart Jar

This formulation is made by the City Grocery in New Orleans, a traditional home of the muffaletta. I have tried other brands and they are not as favorable. Of all the olive salads I have tried I must say this one has the most olive oil. When I make my muffalettas I drain most of the oil off with a strainer and that does not detract from the flavor one iota. Of all the olive salad spreads I have tried, this is the best.

I normally have to buy @ store in New Orleans - Been buying for over 20 years! Use it for salad, muffuletta’s, sausages, hot dogs, or eat right out of jar!!!

If you want an authentic New Orleans Central Grocer Muffelatta.....you got to have this. It's a big jar, and it's Really good on Hotdogs and Brats!!

What I modified in it was that I chopped up the full sized olives therein. It’s just a preference of mine…. Enjoy!

Like a lot of folks, the bottle had leaked. Not a big deal but obviously more than a bunch of customers can deal with.

Very tasty blend of quality ingredients. Just the right amount of spicy without the capsicum added heat so that you can taste all the flavors. Every ingredient compliments the others to make a whole greater than the sum of its parts. Some olives could be chopped smaller. Made a sandwich on a half a loaf of French bread with extra sharp provolone, Genoa salami and swiss. Best sandwich I've had in a long time!
