Description

Cafe du Monde Beignet Mix is the perfect way to bring a taste of New Orleans to your home! This authentic mix allows you to easily make the famous fried dough pastries, dusted with powdered sugar, that have been a staple at Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter since 1862. Simply add water to the mix and fry to perfection for a delicious and nostalgicically sweet treat. This mix is perfect for special occasions or a casual sweet indulgence. Experience the delicious flavor and tradition of Cafe du Monde beignets at home with this convenient mix.

Beignets were also brought to Louisiana by the Acadians. These were fried fritters, sometimes filled with fruit. Today, the beignet is a square piece of dough, fried and covered with powdered sugar.

Unit Size: 28oz

Ingredients: Enriched wheat flour, enriched barley flour, milk, buttermilk, salt, sugar, leavening (baking powder, baking soda, and/or yeast), natural and artificial flavoring.

Instructions: Keep refrigerated after opening. Simple as: Mix-in bowl 2 cups mix and 7 fl oz water. Stir with spoon until blended. Roll - to 1/8 thickness on floured surface, using flour liberally on dough. Cut into 2-1/4 squares. Makes about 2 dozen. Fry - in an inch or two of oil at 370 degrees basting continually on each side until puffy and light golden. Drain well. (Oil should be hot enough for dough to pop to surface in 8-10 seconds.) Electric skillet works best. Enjoy-while hot. Sprinkle generously with powdered sugar. Serve with a cup of Cafe Du Monde Cafe Au-Lait. Bon Appetit!
