Couldn't get much better. Thanks!!!!!! upon opening product sent I was sent the wrong gumbo base. I ordered as per invoice seafood base and received creole base. it is not the same product. a bit disappointed cause I'm stuck with something I didn't order with out any recourse. Very unhappy..still love the product line just bummed out that I was sent whatever vs. what I ordered

A gentlemen in New Orleans recommended this gumbo base. This is perfect for parties because it takes half the prep work out of a fabulous meal.

I'm just not someone who would make gumbo from scratch

I'm just not someone who would make gumbo from scratch. Too much work. So this is the closest and easiest way to gumbo for dinner - and it's good! The instructions on the can say to just add seafood and serve, but you'll need to add veggies if you want some substance. There are bits of okra and stuff in there but it's really cooked down. I sauté some onions, peppers, a bag of frozen cut okra, and Andouille sausage before adding the gumbo base, then add in shrimp and crabmeat at the end.

One of these cans will make three hearty servings of gumbo

One of these cans will make three hearty servings of gumbo.I add a little more than half of a 12oz smoked sausage, and three boiled boneless skinless chicken thighs. Eat it with Louisiana brand hot sauce. It is awesome.I used to get this at my local Krogers, but they quit carrying it. I was glad to see it here and for a reasonable price.
