I love this pure chicory. I add it to my regular coffee not only for health reasons, I love the taste. I can enjoy more cups in the morning. It is so convenient to be able to order 5 lbs. at a time.

This is a coarsely ground chicory product (think ground coffee bean texture) and is a good and flavorful addition to our morning pot of drip coffee. I like how a little bit seems to accent the coffee flavor, intensify the boldness of the beverage. I had bought it thinking (if it was not already finely ground) I could grind it more finely in a food processor to make it like a micro-ground instant beverage, but had no luck with that. Even as a powdery texture it is not 'instant'. We do like it as a decaf addition to our regular coffee and for a cup of pure plain chicory (which I also enjoy) it works great in a single serve coffee makers with a reusable cup. That will be my 'instant' chicory fix from now on. Disappointed it was not instant micro-ground, but pleased with it with for other uses.

This was a great find and purchase. Shopping around for ground chicory, this was the best price anywhere. The purchase/check-out process was simply and straight forward. The product arrived promptly and securely packed. The quality of the product is great as well. The grind is coarse, so it works equally well in a drip coffee maker or a French press. The taste is delicious also, perfectly complementing a high quality organic French roast coffee. In this use, it helps balance the stimulant effects of the coffee so I'm less jittery, which is a nice benefit.

I grew up drinking Louisiana-style coffee - strong boiled coffee with chicory - brewed every morning at a small railroad hotel in Western Tennessee owned by my old aunts. I never lost my taste for chicory in my coffee. It was many years pursuant that I learned of the strong antioxidant value of chicory, a huge bonus to a guy who drinks about a quart of coffee daily and is mindful of his health. I buy five-lb bags of ground chicory from New Orleans Roast on a regular basis and I am quite pleased with the freshness and flavor of the product. I strongly recommend it to my fellow chicoriphiles.
