Kary's Original Roux is a basic roux made by browning flour slowly until it is a rich chocolate brown. It can be used in many Cajun and Creole dishes such as gumbos, stews, and etouffees.

Ingredients: Flour, Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour (Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine, Mononitrate, Riboflavin, and Folic Acid), and Soy Bean Oil
Cajun Seafood Gumbo
2 medium Onions
1 Gallon Water
1lb Fresh Shrimp
1-6oz Can Crab Meat
1 Pint Oysters
5 Tablespoons approximately 1/2 pint Kary's Roux
1/2 Tsp Red Pepper
1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
1 Tsp Salt
3/4 Cup Chopped Onion Tops
Add Water to large pot. Once boiling, add roux, onions, onion tops, crab meat, and seasoning. Boil for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add shrimp and oysters, simmer for 15 minutes. Serve over rice. Serve 6.
