Description

The Camellia Brand signature bean – creamy, hearty, and beloved in New Orleans and across America’s Gulf Coast. It’s an old New Orleans tradition to cook up Red Beans and Rice every Monday, which was historically the laundry day. Simmer or slow-cook them to creamy perfection with the holy trinity of vegetables and add ham hocks and other seasoning meats if you like. Plate them as is or with smoked sausage, fried chicken, or a pan-fried pork chop on the side. Like all of our beans, Camellia’s Red Kidneys are non-GMO, gluten-free, and meet the “Hayward Standard” – the name our growers gave our bean quality standard – which exceeds the top USDA requirements.     Camellia Red Beans are the best red bean you can eat! They are easy to wash, a quick soak is all they need, and they cook up tender in no time at all. I grew up eating Camellia but moved north and would purchase large packs when I would visit my family. Ordering from Creole Food has made it much easier to keep this pantry staple and family favorite on hand.

    I recently purchased 4 packages of Camellia New Orleans Style Red Beans and these are my favorite ones to use because they have the best taste of any that I have ever tried! I used to live in New Orleans,La and cooked red beans and rice often and my family loved these! I am now living in Indiana and I have these shipped to me because they aren’t available to purchase in this area! They were reasonably priced, shipped to me within a few days and I will definitely order these again! Creamy and Delicious!!!
