Like blackeye peas, field peas have an earthy flavor and are ideal for soul food dishes. They are delicious when prepared as a succotash made with corn, okra, and tasso or bacon.     My favorite is the field peas!! Won't buy any other brand. Can't find in local stores do I'm happy when a sale hits here. I can my peas, get 3 pints per bag. Since I started buying these, not shopped in a store for canned peas or beans.
