Description
A unique Cajun sausage made with crawfish, vegetables, rice and Cajun seasoning in a natural casing. Crawfish Etouffee in a casing!
Unit Size: 1lb
Ingredients: rice, crawfish, water, cream of mushroom soup, yellow onions, butter, Rotel tomatoes, celery, green bell peppers, corn starch, salt, parsley, spices, garlic, natural pork casing. CONTAINS: CRAWFISH, MILK, SOY & WHEAT
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
Poach in hot water: In a stockpot, bring to a boil. Before placing boudin links in water lower the heat. Casings tend to burst if you boil them on a full boil. Continue to cook, uncovered for another 10 to 15 minutes. Place the links onto a platter, and let them cool a little before eating or slicing the links into bite-sized pieces.
MICROWAVE: Heat on high for 2 minutes, turn over, and heat for another minute. Let cool a little before eating or slicing.
BAKE: Preheat oven to 300 degrees, and place links on an oiled cookie sheet for 20 minutes, turning over every 5 minutes, for a crispy skin.
STEAM COOKING: Place links in a rice cooker with a little water to cover the bottom. Heat for 3 to 5 minutes on the Cook cycle, then change the settings to Warm. Ready to eat in 10 to 15 minutes. Let the links cool a little while on a plate before eating or slicing.

This boudin is more rice and less filler seasoning than some of the others
This boudin is more rice and less filler seasoning than some of the others. Good quantity of crawfish. I highly recommend not boiling this one to reheat as it will fall apart with any nicks and you will lose all of the flavor.

Admittedly, I was nervous when this arrived because we were in the middle of a major heat wave
Admittedly, I was nervous when this arrived because we were in the middle of a major heat wave. While it was still cool in the packaging, the ice pack was completely melted and the Boudin was no longer frozen. That being said, the taste was fantastic!! We put it in jambalaya and it brought it to a whole different level of tasty goodness. It didn't slice as I expected, but broke apart, but that actually helped it further as it mixed with everything in the dish. I would definitely buy this again.
How ‘bout addin’ a little lagniappe to your order?
Add Boudin
Add Sausage
