Description

Central Grocery is the Home of the Original Muffuletta. Located on Decatur Street in the middle of New Orleans’ French Quarter, they are a third generation, old-fashioned grocery store founded in 1906 by Salvatore Lupo, a Sicilian immigrant who is famous for creating the muffuletta. Lined with shelves stocked with imported pasta and olive oil as the aroma of cured pork and aged cheeses fill the air, the shop hasn’t changed over the years. They always make their muffulettas with meats sliced in house, locally baked handmade bread and THIS the family’s Italian Olive Salad. Enjoy your own taste of New Orleans!

Unit Size: 32oz

Ingredients:  Olives with Pimentos, Oil Blend (Soybean/Extra Virgin Olive Oil), Cauliflower, Carrots, Celery, Kalamata Olives, Red Bell Peppers, Capers, Pepperoncini, Water, Vinegar, Salt, Spices, Garlic and Calcium Chloride, Potassium Sorbate, Lactic Acid, Sodium Bisulfite and Yellow No. 5 as preservatives.

Love the product. It's the real thing from Central Grocery that they use on their famous muffelotas. Wonderful!

Have eaten this product in New Orleans in muffalettas made right in Central Grocery

Have eaten this product in New Orleans in muffalettas made right in Central Grocery. That is a something you need to do!! Like it better than a product we actually love - made by the Pickle Man. His product has a lot of heat (which we like); the Central Grocery version lacks heat and still delivers great flavor. We actually think you should buy both products. Use one on even numbered days and the other on the odd numbers. (FYI - New Orleans is where you go to eat - and - drink.)

Love this ! I mix with cut grape tomatoes, blue cheese dressing and it a wonderful addition to any meal. Also, great as is on a sandwich. Just ordered 2 more jars - one for me, one for my Nephew, who also loves it.

I love the flavors of the Central Grocery Olive Salad, it's the perfect medley of ingredients and flavors

Posted by L. Macrae on May 26th 2020

I love the flavors of the Central Grocery Olive Salad, it's the perfect medley of ingredients and flavors. I used some of this as an add in to a loaf of sourdough bread I made. I picked out the cauliflower (and cheerfully ate it) and didn't use it in the bread recipe. The bread is INCREDIBLE with well drained Central Grocery Olive Salad (Muffuletta) incorporated into the dough. Along with the olives and other ingredients, the herbs in the marinade really added some wonderful flavor notes to the bread.

Very good but I wish it had black olives too

Posted by Old (71) hippy on May 21st 2020

Very good but I wish it had black olives too. We just add sliced Greek kalamata olives and blend it in a blender and it is delicious.
