An acquaintance of mine recommended these when I was asking on my FB page for some good recipes for red beans & rice. He said, "Just get these!" They taste great, and I love having some beans (so good for you) that my husband also loves. Yay! One drawback, and it looks like others have had this problem: some of the cans arrive dented; the packing is not done well; lots of space for the cans to move around in the box. Seems kinda dumb to pack them that way, when it's easily remedied by packing them in a smaller box or with a little more cushioning pieces. Duh.

Since leaving the New Orleans area, these have been a difficult product to find, even online. I used to order directly from the company, but they put a stop to that. If you want to experience red beans and rice the way they taste, for the most part, when served in most areas of Louisiana, this is the closest I've found in a can. Most people that I knew in Louisiana bought this brand, when purchasing canned read beans. I recommend, for the full Louisiana experience, that you cook them with sausage and serve with white rice (popcorn rice, if you can find it). I have found that this is one of the two best priced places to locate this product.
