I cannot make these to save my life and since I've moved to the midwest many years ago, haven't found any place that can make them this good

I cannot make these to save my life and since I've moved to the midwest many years ago, haven't found any place that can make them this good. The best I can do is find a Popeye's once in a blue moon. Sometimes I saute a diced onion, add to 2 cans of this and heat up. I then have red beans and rice for lunch all week.

    These beans are very good

Posted by Jack Burson on Aug 6th 2014

These beans are very good. We lived in S.W. Louisiana for 40 years and these beans indeed capture the cajun flavors of this area. Just add some sliced up good Cajun sausage, warm the mixture up and serve over steamed rice. Now that is GOOD.

I use these to make my red beans and rice thicker

Posted by JBF on May 25th 2014

I use these to make my red beans and rice thicker. I'm from New Orleans and I can't find them up here in North Carolina in the grocery stores, so I found them here and the price was reasonable. I'm told they are delicious on their own, but I always cook with them.

Blue Runner red beans have been around for quite a while - in the South

    Posted by DelicateRaptor6 on May 22nd 2014

Blue Runner red beans have been around for quite a while - in the South. They are not quite like homemade, but as close as you're going to get! The beans are creamy, and are wonderful with Polska, or even ground meat. Serve this over rice and you have a terrific quick lunch or supper. Don't forget the French bread!

This is a wonderful New Orleans meal if you're short on time and don't have time to boil a pack of Camilla beans
