I give it 5 stars for flavor but 3 stars for value
I give it 5 stars for flavor but 3 stars for value. WHEN I can find these in our local stores they are only about $1.16 a can for the 16 oz and about $2.24 for the 32 oz can. The problem is, I can't find these in our local stores!!! I use to be able to find Blue Runner Red Beans in almost every store but even the red beans are hard to find now thanks to the lesser quality Bush beans buying up all the shelf space. When we drive to Louisiana (from Texas) I try to always make a point to go to a grocery store to stock up but haven't been to LA lately so I sucked it up and bought these overpriced 12 cans so we could enjoy some of the most delicious creole beans ever. I render some bacon until crispy, add in 2 cans of creole beans, about a can of water, add either ham or beef flavored boullion along with some creole spice mix (Tony's or Slap ya mama is my favorites) until seasoned perfectly and serve with white rice. I do basically the same with their red beans but hubby prefers chipped up sausage instead of bacon. Enjoy!
