It really needs to have a pablano pepper, couple sticks of celery and an onion or two chopped up, sauteed and added to it, as well as some good beef sausage or Beyond Meat Sausage with some fluid added to it.It's a decent base product as beans are already cooked creamy. Oh, maybe a little cayenne pepper added. Then let set at least a few hours, serve over rice, with a loaf of cornbread. Some parsley wouldn't hurt. A bayleaf or two would help. Where it's a good base bean again they're already creamy.

We bought these when we lived in New Orleans

We bought these when we lived in New Orleans. Haven’t been able to find them since. My wife used to fix them, and I don’t know what seasonings she used. But I did the best I could, and they were pretty good.

I haven't been able to find this on the shelves at grocery stores for months now--even before Rona

I haven't been able to find this on the shelves at grocery stores for months now--even before Rona. They cost more here but they are really good, and they make the best red beans and rice.

Delicious! I bought a whole case because my toddler loves them. Good value. Cans all came banged up but that doesn’t really matter
