Ingredients for frying soft shell crawfish
1 lb soft shell crawfish
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil for frying
Instructions: Clean the crawfish by removing the head and tail and peeling away the soft shell.
Rinse the crawfish under cold running water and pat them dry with paper towels.
Combine the flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
Dredge the crawfish in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the crawfish to the pan in small batches.
Fry the crawfish on each side for 2-3 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.
Remove the crawfish from the pan with a slotted spoon and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
